Supply Chain Analyst: As a Supply Chain Analyst you will be responsible for analyzing and developing for ensuring the efficient flow of resources of the organization including Planning and Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics. The job responsibilities of a supply chain analyst are to enhances the productivity and performance goals of Supply Chain by exploring significant productivity enhancements and promoting positive change through daily interaction with a broad array of peers, customers, vendors, and partners.

This position will also serve as Functional System Administrator and involves providing upgrade, enhancement and ongoing application support to these applications. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and a key contributor position responsible for delivering measurable contributions and value to the company’s supply chain initiatives. The supply chain analyst job responsibilities are not limited to the sourcing and logistics planning; it is more than working with each and every resource movement for sourcing or used in production or delivery of final products.  The job description of a supply chain analyst may include the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities of a Supply Chain Analyst

  1. Ability to manage multiple projects and objectives and respond quickly to purchasing, sourcing planning support requests from the company overall.
  2. Critically analyze each and every section of an organization where development of proper supply chain is required. If there is any improvement required or change in policy is necessary, then do it for the betterment of the operation.
  3. Identify new suppliers; negotiate supply agreements and terms, including discount structures and volume rebates.
  4. Regularly monitor the agreement documents, any change in terms and condition then critically evaluate all the things and ensure the most of its benefit for the company and develop a good supply chain management.
  5. Maintain working professional relationships with all assigned/nominated suppliers
  6. Prepare RFQ’s and negotiate cost, delivery, and lead-times with suppliers. 
  7. Identify cost optimization opportunities and execute offshore component reduction opportunities.
  8. Foster close working relationships with internal cross-functions such as Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
  9. Measure and manage purchasing cost, delivery and quality performance activities.
  10. Provide ongoing analyses in areas such as transportation costs, procurement, orders, or delivery processes.
  11. Ensure resource availability for production and operation.
  12. Preparation, communication, and monitoring of Production and capacity plans. 
  13. Develop warehouse capacity plans and highlight any capacity issues.
  14. Reviewing and controlling minimum and maximum stock levels.
  15. Assisting in monthly stock takes of both raw materials and finished goods.
  16. Checking invoices and raising any pricing queries
  17. Liaise internally with NPD (New Product Development), marketing, sales finance and technical.
  18. Collect logistic data, analyze to find out the cost and benefit and take the most cost-effective decision.
  19. Time to time monitor inventory level and requirement of resources in each of the department and process of an organization.
  20. Develop reports to analyze and interpret KPIs to identify trends and areas of focus.
  21. Coordinate with the technical team in the development of reports, conversions, interfaces, and extensions for ERP applications.
  22. Investigate multiple solutions to business problems and prepare analyses to justify solutions.
  23. Responsible for the execution of the agreed standard Supply Chain Issue Management (SCIM) processes in alignment.
  24. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  25. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

As a supply chain analyst you must have following skills:

  1. Excellent influencing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  2. An analyst must have excellent analytical, numerical and verbal skills.
  3. Experience of using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & Oracle systems or any other database management system.
  4. Ability to manage resources and analyze the best available data to take the right decision.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills (i.e. critical and evaluative thinking) required.
  6. Ability to develop and implement complex project plans, schedules and strategies as required.
  7. Advanced Excel (VLookups, Pivot tables, HLookups, IF, Countifs, Sumifs, and any other advance excel functions)
  8. Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, applicable supply chain system and internet)
  9. Good working knowledge of supply chain systems, concepts, processes and requirements, and application capability.
  10. The person should have good knowledge of accounting and finance so that he/she can do the cost-benefit analysis of all available alternatives.
